ZULUM TO SIGN AN EXECUTIVE ORDER ON METAL, SCRAP SCAVENGE

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum is to sign an Executive Order to ban scavenge of metals and scraps across the state.

 

Announcing the ban, yesterday (Monday), in Maiduguri, at the State Government’s vandalized property in Bulumkutu community, he said; “I will definitely sign an Executive Order banning all forms of metal scavenging in the State,”

 

He noted that the sighted vandalized metals in the community belong to the Federal and State governments.

 

According to him, such acts can sabotage the activities of Federal and State governments, as street lights and telecom towers dot all parts of Maiduguri metropolis and Jere Council,

His words: “We can’t allow that to continue, I want to condemn and to announce the ban on metal scavenging in the State till further notice.

 

“I will signed Executive Order banning all forms of metal scavenging in the state.”

 

Zulum lamented that many scavengers lost their lives to Boko Haram attacks, while they were vandalizing property in some deserted communities.

 

The State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) also paraded six suspects for vandalizing a communication mast belong to defunct NITEL at Chiki village in Chibok Local Council.
