It has been noticed that there is an increasing proliferation of prohibited firearms in circulation. This has placed some risky concerns on the security of the nation, hence the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohemmed Abubakar Adamu, NPM, mni, has warned those stockpiling, using, and in control of such prohibited firearms to voluntarily submit them to the nearest Police Command.
Sequel to this, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Police Command, CP Salami Amidu Bolaji advises all individuals, organizations, civil groups, Vigilante, Quasi State and regional security outfits in Ondo State using prohibited firearms with or without licenses to voluntarily submit then to Ondo State Police Command for proper safekeeping.
He warned that failure to do this would force Ondo Police Command to embark on forceful search and seizure of such arms and those found in possession of such prohibited firearms would be prosecuted in accordance with the firearms act.
You are therefore warned to comply with this directive to avoid embarrassment.
