Sultan Calls On Rivers Muslims To Support Governor Wike

The Sultan of Sokoto and President General Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Saad Abubakar  has called on Muslims  in Rivers State to support Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in the administration  of the state.

Speaking  during  an interactive  session  with Muslims in Rivers State in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the Sultan of Sokoto  called on them to pray for the governor to succeed.

He said after the bustle of political campaigns, all residents of the state, Muslims inclusive should line up behind the governor  to move the state forward.

He said: “Now that the noise of the campaigns  are over, support  the leader to succeed.  If the leader succeeds, the community  benefits.  If the leader fails, the community suffers the consequences “.

The Sultan  called on Muslims  in Rivers State  to be loyal to the administration, pointing out that such loyalty must be total.

The President General of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs  urged the Rivers Muslims to leave in peace with their  hosts.

He said that the interactive  session was initiated for fraternal reasons.

Earlier, Special Adviser to  the Rivers State Governor on Niger Delta Development Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Aribitonye thanked Sultan Sa’ad for the meeting, which he said would uplift the spirit of Muslims in the state.

He said that the State is peaceful  and functional  as Governor Wike  promotes religious  harmony.
