The foremost Yoruba political, social and cultural organization, Afenifere Ekiti state chapter, has welcome the announcement of governor Ayo Fayose to immortalize the late Gen Adeyinka Adebayo as a national legend. And it is even a sweet taste in the mouth for Mr Governor to personally declared the best edifice in Ekiti, The Oke Ayoba government house, as the momento of honor.
According to the group, it is a kudos to the government that initiated and built the infrastructure which has become the signature post for Ekiti, of which governor Fayose is now very proud of to the extent of naming after the foremost son of Ekiti. According to Ekiti Afenifere, nothing could be more applauded. Afenifere however advised governor Fayose to allow order and peace to reign during and after the burial.
He should allow the family to bury their patriarch according to their plans instead of wanting to takeover in the name of being a sitting governor. Any forceful imposition of any unapproved item on the family could be counter productive. Meanwhile, Ekiti Afenifere has appealed to fuel dealers to resume sales of petroleum products to honor the memory of Gen Adeyinka Adebayo, especially that thousands of visitors will be in Ekiti during the burial obsequies of the late former leader.
