Manchester United took on Bournemouth on Saturday and it all ended in a stalemate. Manchester United continue to fail to make a huge statement of intent in their league matches at Old Trafford this season.

Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho

The match which seemed to have been in favour of the Red Devils ended some how in favour of the away team Bournemouth having been a man down as a result of red card in the first half of the game. For Bournemouth team a draw is something to think about. In the first half of the game, Bournemouth concede a red card and were handed the responsibility to continue the rest of the game with 10 players.

In the second half, Manchester United continue to probe the away teams defence as they sought for a winning goal. Lauching several attacks on Bournemouth defence but amounted to nothing. Artur Boruc Bournemouth goal keeper was outstanding and brilliantly saved most of United attempts on goal. Luckily enough, United were awarded a penalty. Ordinarily one would have thought that would seal the game but it wasn’t so. Just when United would have been in front and avail themselves of the longing standing in the sixth position in the premier league table, Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed the spot kick and the struggle for a winning goal continued. The match ended in a frustrating stalemate for United fans. It is worthy of note that United have now been occuping the sixth position for the past 139 days.
