The Governor-elect for Yobe State, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni; will be sworn-in as the new executive governor on Wednesday behind closed doors. Attendance of ceremony at Government House, Damaturu; will also be strictly by invitation as only a handful of invitation cards had been printed and issued by protocol officials as tickets. According to Government House sources; the tickets were to grant guests access to the Banquet Hall, venue of inauguration ceremony. Chairman of Publicity Sub-Committee for the 2019 inauguration; Mala Musti, who is also Commissioner of Information; disclosed this Tuesday in Damaturu, while briefing journalists on the inauguration ceremony of the Governor-elect. “This event will be held at the new Banquet Hall of Government House in Damaturu with strict control of the crowd to the venue,” he said. He advised members of the general public that will not have the opportunity to attend inauguration ceremony to wait until June 12, 2019. According to him, the Democracy Day grand celebration; will be held at the August 27th Stadium, Damaturu, the state capital. He said the decision committee, was to restrict the swearing behind closed doors; and in conformity with President Muhammadu Buhari’s low-keyed inauguration which will, however; hold at the Eagle Square; Abuja. “As you may be aware that the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony will be low-keyed; because of the pronouncement by His Excellency, President Buhari that henceforth; Democracy Day will be celebrated on June 12, of every year,” he said.
