YOBE TO ENGAGE 64 EGYPTIAN DOCTORS AND LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST INTO COLLEGE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES

The Yobe State Government is to engage 64 doctors and laboratory technologist into newly established College of Medical Sciences of Yobe State University (YBSU) for effective healthcare delivery system across the state. Out of 64 recruited doctors and technologists; five are from the Republic of Egypt, who specialized in human physiology. Director General, Press Affairs to the Governor, Abdullahi Bego disclosed this on Monday in a statement issued to journalists in Damaturu. According to him, the Governor has given approval for the recruitment of additional personnel into the newly established College of Medical Sciences of the Yobe State University on permanent and pensionable as well as sabbatical basis. He said the engagement of doctors and technologists; cover both academic and non-academic cadres of the College and will ensure its smooth take-off. “Those recruited include three Professors and two PhD holders from the Republic of Egypt and 30 Nigerians, including a professor of human physiology. Others are 18 graduate assistants, 11 laboratory technologists and assistant laboratory technologists,” said Bego. It could be recalled that Governor Gaidam had earlier approved the appointment of a provost for the College.
