OYO STARTS FG N-POWER SUPPLEMENTARY VERIFICATION

The Oyo State Government has announced that Tuesday January 24 to Friday, January 28, 2017, is the period for the supplementary verification exercise for the beneficiaries of the Federal Government social investment Programme, N-Power.

The state commissioner for Women Affairs, Community Development, Social Welfare and Poverty Alleviation, Atinuke Osunkoya disclosed this in a statement in Ibadan on Monday, adding that the beneficiaries of the N-Power programme from the state who missed the earlier organized verification exercise are expected to show up at their respective local governments with their credentials, means of identification and other relevant documents.

The commissioner stressed that the deployment of the already verified beneficiaries will take place shortly.

Similarly, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Abayomi Oke has appealed to youths in the state to unite and form a formidable team that can promote the good governance of the Senator Abiola Ajimobi administration.

Oke gave the charge while receiving the President-General of World Youth Organization, Ambassador Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew and his team in his office.

According to him, “youths are the leaders of tomorrow and to build the state and Nigeria as a whole, we need to unite and bring out numerous positive developments, programmes and achievements of the Senator Abiola Ajimobi administration. I urge the youth leaders to come together to make Oyo State better. We need to unite ourselves and make amendments where necessary.”

The commissioner who was represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youths, Afeez Bolaji Repete said “the Ministry of Youth and Sports is ready to partner with the World Youth Organization to see how the youths in Oyo State can benefit from the organization. The youth have a future they need to pursue and I urge them to be focused as I assure them that the state is solidly behind their legitimate programmes.

Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation, Ambassador Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew, who recently emerged as substantive President – General of World Youth Organization, an affiliate of the United Nations (UN), said he has been involved in youth projects and empowerment activities since his days as a student in Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

Ambassador Adeniyi, who hails from Ogbomoso, Oyo State, noted that World Youth Organization is a non-profit organization working for social welfare with primary focused on youth affairs.

He expressed his readiness to partner with Oyo State Government to reduce unemployment among youths in the state.
