LIVERPOOL HANDED SADIO MANE INJURY BOOST AHEAD OF UCL CLASH WITH PSG

Date:

Liverpool face a trip to France on Wednesday as they take on PSG in a key Champions League clash.

The Reds head into the game second in their group on the same points as group leaders, Napoli.

They are, however, just one point above third place PSG.

With Napoli still to play, Liverpool cannot afford to lose vs PSG who are unbeaten in Ligue 1 this season.

However, Virgil van Dijk has insisted Liverpool will not be going to Paris for a draw and want all three points:

“We want to win in Paris. We’re not going to go there for a draw; we’re not going there for anything else other than trying to produce a good performance and trying to win the game.

“It’s going to be unbelievably tough because they are still unbeaten in the league and haven’t lost at home for a long time.”

However, Liverpool will have to deal with both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe who are expected to start for the Ligue 1 outfit on Wednesday after recovering from an injury.

While PSG have been boosted by two of their star players returning, Liverpool have also been handed a fitness boost.

It was on Monday evening reported that Liverpool winger Sadio Mane had come down with an illness.

As a result, Mane was a doubt for Wednesday’s game and was to be assessed on Tuesday before Jurgen Klopp’s side flew to Paris.

It was good news for Liverpool though as Mane was passed fit for the trip.
