GRAB THAT OPPORTUNITY

Date:

By Janet Mba Afolabi Lagos, Nigeria.

In life there are lots of existing opportunities. But we have to look for them. You should not wait for an opportunity to present itself. The saying ” Seek and you will find” means that it is there but you must look for it. It doesn’t say wait and it will come. Opportunity does not chase you. You have to pursue and grab it very  tightly. If you hold it loosely it may slip away, or stolen from you.

Everyone is exceptional when involved in the right opportunity. Many times, we miss the boat and someone else grabs the oppourtunity that should have been ours.

According to Marcel Proust, ” the real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes. With a fresh look we can start to recognise the unlimited opportunities that surround us. Most opportunities show themselves in form of a crisis, adversity or failure . Many success stories started this way.

If you are always waiting for an oppourtunity by making one excuse after another, you will reach the last excuse of all such as ” I am too old now”. Until the day you die you feel the world was against you like most Nigerians do. They feel that those who succeed do so because of luck or influence. Everyone has sufficient ability, ideas and opportunities to make them rich in every area of their life. Most human being do not exploit their abilities. They choose not to look at the world with new eyes. They see only the past and negative instead of the present and positive.
