The media,FIDA and CSOs actively participated in the protest. The major highlight of the protest was the signing of Violence Against The person Bill by Governor Obaseki. The Act seeks to give two years imprisonment without an option of fine to whoever violates/beats a man or woman among others. The speaker of Edo state House of Assembly,came in with the Bill when the protest was on at the Govt house. The governor immediately signed it into law.
