BORNO YOUTHS DEMAND SLASH IN PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION FORM

The Borno Youths and Students Association Forum (BOYSAF) has called on the reduction of presidential nomination fee of N10 million to enable them contest presidential elections next year. The call was made on Wednesday by the National President of Students Association of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education (SPACE), Prince Muhammadu Hassan at a news conference held in Maiduguri. He said for youths in the country; “Not too Young” to contest forthcoming Presidential elections, the N10 million and N12 million nomination fees of All Progressive Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are too high for youths. According to him, youths and students’ association forum in Borno state are to fully support Alhaji Garba Sanda to contest 2019 elections for Southern Borno Senatorial District. “We’ve decided to support this dynamic politician, after painstakingly appraised and considered the present political situation in the senatorial district. “The youths need a Senator that has the constituency at heart with greater commitments. This is the time to call for sacrifice from experienced statesmen and patriots.” The statesmen, according to him, have participated in laying the foundation for nation building. On leadership qualities of the aspirant, Hassan said: “This is the man that has Borno, including its youths and students at heart. “Sanda, our aspirant for the senatorial district elections, is committed to youths and students empowerment for over a decade.” He said that the aspirant; had facilitated the employment of many youths with the awards of several scholarships to students studying at institutions of higher learning.
