Speaking on the Social Support Programme, he said: “Notwithstanding, these efforts, we realized that there is still a gap in funding the business take-off of the 10, 000 unemployed women.”

He lamented that it has dampened the willingness and commitments of the women who run their small scale businesses.

He said most of the women that acquired training skills and trades, would have been better off with the little support to raise their capital base.

“We’re opening new economic empowerment corridors in our commitments to fight poverty and unemployment among the vulnerable persons and women,” said the Governor.
