Zulum, Military Restore Peace, Executes 600 Projects in Borno

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state and the military have restored peace with the completion of 600 projects across the state.

According to him, the greatest achievements of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration was the tremendous restoration of peace and security of people’s life and property.

Unveiling the restoration of peace, in Maiduguri, yesterday (Monday), at the flag off campaign for 2023 governorship re-election, the Governor, disclosed: “Peace is the product of the resilience demonstrated by the people, particularly the ones who suffered losses, injuries and eventual displacement of people by the Boko Haram crisis.”

He said the victims of insurgency has shown incredible strength and abide of faith against the terrorists, despite their sufferings.

Besides, he added that the restoration of peace was also the product of sacrifices by the Nigerian Armed Forces under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Continued; “The sacrifices of the Civilian JTF, hunters, vigilantes and prayers will sustain peace restoration in the state.

“We’ve resolved to make security as a priority which the people have stood with us,”

On the completed projects, he said that the state government delivered 120 capital projects in 100 days of APC administration in the state.

He added that in just a year, 326 capital projects were also completed in 12 months, while 556 were executed in two years.

“There were also 600 clusters of capital projects completed in three years of APC administration,” he said.

In addition to the restoration of peace, he said: “Two hundred healthcare centres were upgraded to General Hospitals with the engagement of 700 medical doctors, nurses, midwives, radiologists and laboratory scientists.”

According to him, with the support of the people; 24 mega schools were built with the rehabilitation of 108 schools.

“In sustaining the completed 132 schools the State government will engage 3, 000 additional teachers,” he further disclosed.

He told the party officials and supporters that the APC administration has complimented the Federal Government by establishing the first Federal Polytechnic with the building of the State’s N4.34 billion first flyover and other roads and bridges.

Besides the completed projects, he added that his administration is restoring economic recovery with the safe agriculture and provision of economic stimulus for the micro, small and medium business starters.

On the political violence, he disclosed: “We’re fighting political thuggery and street begging with outright prohibition, social reforms and protection including jobs creation.

While reiterating the performance of the ruling party, he noted that the APC supporters should be proud of what the administration was able to achieve without any allegations of failures.

He said that the party will not abandon its obligation to serve, because of electioneering campaigns across the state.

Instead, he noted that the state government will stick to the restoration of peace and public service with character, integrity and principles including accountability to the people.

According to him; “Our continuity plan in January 2923 will be released for another four years of accelerated recovery, growth and development.

“We plan to spread development projects to the three senatorial districts in the state,” stating that the siting of projects would be fair and equitable to improve people’s living conditions.

He added that the APC administration plans to sustain and enhance its focus on reconstruction and resettlement, healthcare, water supply and security.

“However, while we celebrate our gains, I would like to remind us that there is much to be done to sustain peace along with the completed projects,” he said.
