The All Progressives Congress (APC) has doled out N50 million to the 178 party ward executives in Yobe state.
Each of the ward executives from Damaturu, Gulani, Gujba, Fika, Fune, Potiskum and Nangere Councils, is to get N20, 000.
Disbursing the empowerment of the electioneering campaigns, yesterday (Tuesday), in Fika town, the APC Chairman in Yobe state, Mohammed Gadaka, disclosed; “Today’s disbursement was to boost your financial capabilities during the electioneering campaigns in each of the 178 wards across the state.”
He warned that they are not to marry more wives with the disbursed N50 million.
Besides, he added: “The empowerment was meant to assist you ward for contributing immensely in various ways of the electioneering campaigns,” stating that the disbursements were towards the expected victory of APC in the 2023 general elections in the state.”
He, therefore, charged them to come out en masse during the forthcoming elections.
“You should vote for Governor Mai Mala Buni, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu/ Kashim Shettima and all other candidates of the ruling party in the state,” he said.
He also urged all eligible voters to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) without any further delays.
“It is by so doing that APC could sweep the polls on February 25, and March 11, 2023 for the Presidential, National Assemble, Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections,” he noted.
He further disclosed that besides the empowerment of the party executives, 8, 000 women are also to be empowered during the electioneering campaigns across the state.
According to him, all the necessary arrangements have been completed for the empowerment of women at the grassroots.
Responding, the Executive Wards Chairmen, described the disbursement of N50 million as unprecedented and timely with barely two months of electioneering campaigns in the 178 wards.
“This is where the electorates live to cast their votes for the APC candidates,” he said.
He said that their (executives) empowerment would make the desired positive impact on the living standards of members.
They pledged to vote for the Governor and APC Presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu/ Kashim Shettima and other APC candidates in the state.
