‘Our Politics Is That of Development, Security in Borno’-Zulum

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state, has said that the politics of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its supporters comprises development and security of lives and property in Borno state.

According to him, the planned development projects and programmes are to be sited in the three senatorial districts of Borno north, central and south.

Unveiling the development projects, yesterday (Tuesday), in Maiduguri at the flag off campaign for 2023 Governorship re-election, Zulum, disclosed: “We shall be releasing an overview of our continuity plans for another four years.”

He stated that the development projects are to accelerate the State’s economic recovery, growth and development to improve people’s living conditions.

“The siting and execution of projects and programmes; are to be ‘fair and equitable’ across the state,” he declared at the campaign re-election bid.

He noted that the APC administration could not do much in the first term, but it will accorded priority in the second term of office.

Besides, he added that the State government plans to sustain and enhance its focus on reconstruction and resettlements of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in camps and host communities.

He said that other priority development plans are on healthcare, water supply, food security, roads network and most importantly, the security of people’s lives and property.

Continued; “We plan to work and work until; the last minute of our second term in office, from where our successors will build and surpass us.”

He, therefore, seek the mandate of the people in the forthcoming March 11, Governorship election in the state.

Before then he said: “I urge all of us in the APC to go to work, but we must remember that our strength lies with the mandate of the electorates at the February 25 and March 11, 2023 polls.”

But they must remember that their strength also lies with unity of purpose of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

Continued; “Let us go to work for all the elective offices from the Presidential and National Assembly ahead of the February; Governorship and State Assemblies on March 11, 2023.

“All the electives positions at the national and state levels are equally important,” he said, warning that APC cannot afford to lose any ward in the state.

On the State’s political violence, he said: “I must reiterate that we should play politics according to the rules of the game,” adding that they should be law abiding without any hate speech during electioneering campaigns.
