B’Haram Terrorists Abduct Govt. Official, Two Brothers In Yobe

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have kidnapped an official of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MHUD) and two brothers along the Damaturu-Buni/Yadi-Biu road in Yobe.

The abducted government officers include Haruna Barma Mutai and two of his younger brothers; after identifying them Tuesday with their official cards near the College of Agriculture, Damaturu.

Confirming the incident, yesterday, in Damaturu, an anonymous staff of the Ministry disclosed: “I saw Mutai and his two brothers departing for Buni/Yadi for an official engagement to inspect the housing projects in Gujba council area.”

He said that the trio were stopped by terrorists on the road near the college, before abducting them in the morning towards Sambisa Forest.

According to him; “The trio were said to be travelling in a private car on Tuesday when the vehicle was intercepted by terrorists near the College.

He said that some of the victims that escaped being abducted told The Guardian that the terrorists barricaded the road, before abducting an official with two brothers at 8.25am.

He lamented that several vehicles and passengers were also trapped; as the insurgents looted their personal effects and handsets.
