Troops of Operation Tura Takaibango and the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole have neutralized several terrorists in the outskirts of Marte in Borno. They also destroyed seven gun trucks; which the terrorists attempted to attack a military post Friday in the Marte/Dikwa axis. In a statement yesterday in Maiduguri, the Acting Director Defense Media Operations, Brig-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko disclosed that; “the troops based on credible information about the attack; position themselves at an ambush site. “They tactically withdrew and awaited for the arrival of terrorists before they opened firing, killing several of them.” According to him, the terrorists’ ambush led to a fierce battle that led to success of protecting Marte residents, who were returned last month by Governor Babagana Zulum. He added that the troops are still pursuing the fleeing terrorists for further exploitation in the Lake Chad Basin axis.
