MNJTF KILLS 15 TERRORISTS, DESTROYS TWO GUN TRUCKS IN BORNO

Troops of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have; Thursday killed 15 terrorists with the destruction of two Boko Haram gun trucks in Jigalta community of Borno state. Two terrorists’ gun trucks, were also captured in the five-hour laid ambush; 20 kilometres north of Monguno. Nigerian Army media coordinator, Col. Aminu Iliyasu in a statement Friday in Maiduguri, said: “The criminals laid an ambush with five gun trucks and unconfirmed number of insurgents. “The gallant troops responsively countered the ambush and neutralised the uncoordinated criminals. “However, a soldier paid the supreme sacrifice during the cross fire that ensured, while a Chadian soldier was also wounded in action.” He added that a few of them, sustained gunshot wounds and fled towards the Lake Chad waters. According to him, the Sector 3 Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Abdulmalik Biu and two other commanders for Artillery, Intelligence and Sector 2 MNJTF visited the jubilant troops at Jigalta. While the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai and Sector 2 MNJTF commander, Col. Bokhit Ali commended the troops for their sustained fighting spirit.
