PDP’S LADI ADEBUTU DUMPS PARTY, ENDORSES APM’S AKINLADE FOR OGUN GUBER POLL

Date:

One time governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, has dumped his party to endorse the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade.
Adebutu, popularly called LADO, whose support base from Remo in Ogun East Senatorial District and across the state, is incontestable, received Akinlade at the Park Inn, in Abeokuta, where he told his followers to support Akinlade.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Sikirulai Olawale Ogundele said, “we, as a party, have decided to adopt the candidature of Hon. Akinlade, because he is a credible, responsive and an upright man, who has what it takes to move the state forward.
“As I’m talking to you now, all our state, Local Government and ward Executive Council members, have graciously adopted the candidature of Hon. Akinlade, and we have directed our members to go and vote for him, to sustain and continue the mission of Governor Ibikunle Amosun”, he added.
This merger, according to him, is the best thing that can happen to the state, “because it will bring fairness and justice, in that our brothers from Ogun West will be given the opportunity to lead the state in the 43 years of the state’s existence.
On why they did not support their party’s recognised candidate, Senator Buruji Kashamu, Ogundele said, “it is a misfit for Kashamu, a primary four drop out, a fugitive with criminal records and questionable character, to even aspire to become the governor of the state, let alone winning”, he stated,  adding that “as a party, we cannot follow, vote and support him.”
