Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has hosted members of the state Cultural Troupe, for emerging first in the just concluded International Arts and Crafts competition, held in Abuja and other events.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun, while receiving the troupe in his office, in Abeokuta, commended the troupe for emerging tops in various national and international Arts and Culture competitions.
The governor disclosed that the state troupe was overall first in the International Art and crafts competition after winning six out of nine awards in Abuja, adding that they also came first in the traditional Ayo Olopon game at the National Festival for Arts and Culture in Rivers State.
Amosun showered encomiums on the troupe for showcasing the great and enviable standard the state is known for at the competitions.
He enjoined the troupe not to relent, but continually showcase the prowess the state has been displaying in all sheres.
The State Commissioner for Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Barr. Muyiwa Oladipo, noted that the state would not have excelled, if not for the support of the governor, who he described as a lover of culture and a man who will not take anything less than excellence.
He promised that the ministry, particularly the state troupe, would continue to reciprocate the gesture of the state government, by winning more laurels in art, culture and tourism competitions.
The statement also revealed that the project would be jointly executed by the Ministries of Urban and Physical Planning, Housing and Bureau of Transportation.
