Germany have crashed out of the World Cup group stages after failing to get into the top two teams in their group.
They started off badly with their loss against Mexico, but after coming from behind to beat Sweden, everyone thought the same old, same old was set to happen again, and that Germany would rally and end up winning the whole thing.
However, going into their final game, everything was on a knife edge, and Germany failed to do what was needed.
Mexico, a team who impressed so many, thought they might crash out at one point, with Sweden beating them comfortably, and we all sat and waited for the inevitable German goal.
However, it wasn’t to be, and VAR popped up once again to allow the goal from South Korea that ended all German hopes.
Manuel Neuer trying to play in midfield as the Germans looked for two goals was futile, and it was a shambolic group stage for a team that were the favourites for so many people going into the World Cup.
