Police Arrest Two Boko Haram Suspects, 16 Others For Alleged Crimes

The Borno Police Command has recorded some successes, with the arrest
of two Boko Haram suspects and 16 other criminals, despite insurgency
and terrorism that had claimed many lives and property in the last
eight years in the state.
The arrests, according to the Police Commissioner, Damian Chukwu; was
to rid the state of criminals, even in the face of Boko Haram
insurgency.
Parading the suspects on Friday at the police headquarters, Maiduguri,
Chukwu said that the suspects were alleged to be armed robbers,
rapists, receivers of stolen properties, and impersonation.
His words: “The arrests of Boko Haram suspects and six others, is to
showcase the police’s recent achievements and activities of the Borno
State Command.
“One of the successes includes a syndicate of six, including a woman,
all said to be notorious for receiving stolen vehicles. In the course
of investigations…Azalimu were arrested. One of them confessed to
have robbed a woman of a car at her residence.”
Other robbed vehicles, according to him, include a black Camry car,
traced to Bauchi, and a C-Class Mercedes-Benz, traced to Jos. He added
that the robberies took place in Jos, Plateau state.
He said that other achievements recorded during the same period
include, the arrest of a man alleged to have raped a ten year old
girl.
“Two suspected Boko Haram members are also in the net of the police,
as well as one Adam Alex, caught impersonating military personnel,”
said the police chief.
All the suspects are expected to be charged to court as soon as
investigation is concluded by the police.
