She is the first female Professor in Nigeria. The first Nigerian female to study at Cambridge University. First female Dean of Education in Nigeria and the first woman to study and complete her studies at Yaba higher College diploma programme. Her name is Felicia Adetowun Ogunsheye, who was 90 years old on December 5 last year.
An accomplished, librarian, educationist And women development visionary, Adetowun has written and published over 50 publications.
She is currently the President of the Ogunsheye Foundation, a Non governmental organization. She is also the Matron of Citizens Care Foundation, A group that aims at building homes for the old, recently the group visited the Ooni of Ife to inform him of its plan to build a home for the elderly and name it after him.
